Navigating Change

About

While change can make our lives better, we rarely receive these benefits without effort. Both well-planned and unplanned change roll-outs require our social, emotional, and behavioural responses to remain engaged and productive through the crisis and discomfort of change. Navigating change effectively requires personal change skills and individual initiative to seek out, digest, and positively respond to change. In this workshop, you will learn what it takes to deal with the individual side of change and transition and how to deal effectively with changes that impact you. Beginning with an exploration of factors influencing individual acceptance and commitment, you will then learn about transitions and the influence of resonance on individual adoption. You will also explore essential ways to ground yourself during change and practice tools for creating personal transition strategies and action plans.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Discuss factors affecting individual motivation to change.
  2. Identify models and flow of events for individual transition.
  3. Use critical thinking techniques to describe the difference between managing change and managing transitions.
  4. Identify tools to effectively thrive in an environment of ever-increasing change.

Create an action plan for successfully leading yourself in times of change.
