Hi Pharmacy students!

I met a number of you at the Independent Night, was impressed with your dedication and knowledge and wanted to contact the group with an offer.  Tofield PharmaChoice would like to extend you an opportunity for employment at our Community Pharmacy.  We’re located 35–45 minutes east of Edmonton in the Town of Tofield.  Should you decide to join us you’d have a scenic drive through the Beaverhill Moraines, a picturesque drive through nature instead of rush hour traffic.  You’d be close enough to commute should you choose not to relocate.  We’ve got soccer fields, an arena, a curling rink, a golf course, walking trails and paved streets that are bike friendly.  You can still enjoy your Subway sandwiches, Timmies treats, amazing Chinese food at The Diamond, hang out at our local sports bar or enjoy the best pizza in Alberta at Tilley’s Family Dining.  We work hard but have fun together!  You’d get birthday cake on your special day, staff lunches on occasion, and automatic enrolment in our staff golf tournament (great prizes), just to name a few. 

Now on to the pharmacy.  You’d have two pharmacy assistants to help and guide you as you become acquainted with the pharmacy and clientele. 

You’d be required to:

  • order and maintain pharmaceutical supplies.
  • supervise and coordinate the pharmacy staff.
  • advise customers on the selection and use of non-prescription medication.
  • dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to customers and health care professionals.
  • advising them on indications, contra-indications, adverse effects, drug interactions and dosages.
  • maintain medication profiles of customers including narcotics and controlled drugs.
    ensure proper preparation, packaging, distribution and storage of vaccines, serums, biologicals and other drugs and pharmaceuticals.
  • compound prescribed pharmaceutical products by calculating, measuring and mixing the quantities of drugs and other ingredients required and filling appropriate containers with correct quantity.

We have recently added a compounding room to our pharmacy and currently supply our own stores with these products.  You’d have the owner/pharmacist who would assist and instruct as needed.  Should you choose to join us you’d gain hands-on experience in all aspects of pharmacy practice.  You want variety, we’ve got it here!  We’re open six days a week from 9 a.m.–6 p.m. (5:30 p.m. on Saturdays so we can get a jump on the weekend).  No Sundays, every other Saturday off, and no evenings!  Sound too good to be true.  It’s the joys of easy living and country life.  Seriously, we would love to hear from you.  We are a well-established pharmacy with amazing staff and patients, willing to help new students get established in-store.
