The Faculty and students at the University of Alberta's Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences are very grateful to our preceptors. We are proud to acknowledge your contributions to the development of future pharmacists in Alberta, by way of offering the Preceptor Recognition Awards Program and Academic Appointments (titles).
Preceptor Recognition Awards Program
2024-2025 Award Theme: "Preceptors fostering environments that encourage learning and exchange of ideas."
Preceptors exhibit this in a variety of ways, including:

Fostering spaces that allow students to be comfortably curious

Being receptive to feedback that is open and honest and free of personal judgment

Demonstrating open-dialogue, which allow leaders to explore disagreements and talk through tensions in a team

Demonstrating sponsorship, or enabling others’ success ahead of one’s own

Displaying situational humility, which teaches leaders how to develop curiosity and a personal-growth mindset

Encourages and supports the learner. Displaying collaborative efforts to identify and address inequities, welcomes and enables contributions of all voices as they engage with diverse ideas, knowledge, and perspectives.

Demonstrating values of intersectionality and how interwoven vectors shape social belonging, cultural representations, social and political institutions.
Award Eligibility:
All preceptors and co-preceptors for students participating in experiential education placements with the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Alberta, are eligible to receive this award via student nominations. All nominees meeting the award criteria will receive an award certificate (uploaded to CORE ELMS account).
