Part 2: Getting Your IDP Started
Exploring Career Values and Success
This workshop blends independent and interactive learning to kickstart your Individual Development Plan (IDP).
The workshop consists of pre-workshop activities (completed independently in advance) and a virtual, face-to-face workshop, to help you focus on three foundational aspects:
- Idea Generation: Reflect on your interests, aspirations and societal contributions.
- Self-Assessment: Evaluate your technical, transferable and personal skills.
- Career Exploration: Define your values and what career success means to you, then research potential paths.
Learning Outcomes
- Expand your understanding of "career."
- Reflect on your experience and attributes.
- Complete a self-assessment by aligning your experiences with your values, skills and competencies.
- Distinguish between your work preferences and values.
- Define what career success means to you.
- Craft a personal values statement.
- Consider your next steps while navigating the IDP.
This course is offered online both synchronously as a live, virtual workshop and asynchronously as a self-directed course.
