Supervisor Resources

Resources for Supervisors Banner

Good supervision of graduate students improves graduate student learning, productivity and satisfaction with their experience at the University of Alberta. Mentorship goes beyond supervision to address the whole person and the life-long career choices ahead for the graduate students we supervise.  These pages host a collection of resources to help supervisors of graduate students achieve these goals.

Supporting Your Students and Postdocs In Their Career Journey

Date: Thursday, May 1, 2025
Time: 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. MT

Location: Online via Zoom

Do your graduate students and postdocs come to you with questions about their career options or PD requirements? Are they only talking with you about the academic path, yet less than 50% of graduate students end up in academia?  Did you know that students who do internships take less time on average to complete their grad programs? We know you are not career advisors, but there are people on campus who are. Come join us for a session that will help you support your students with options to explore their career path.
