Graduate Student Internship Program

The University of Alberta's Career Centre has partnered with the Faculty of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies (GPS) to develop the Graduate Student Internship Program (GSIP).
GSIP provides flexible, paid work experience to U of A graduate students through a variety of interdisciplinary work placements available throughout the year. These placements provide graduate students with the chance to strengthen their professional and transferable skills.
It includes the Sustainability Scholars Program and the Public Service Graduate Internship with the Institute of Public Administration Canada (IPAC), Edmonton Region.

Program Details
- U of A posts positions for students and forwards résumés of eligible applicants to employers
- Employers choose the most suitable candidate from the pool of talented applicants
- Internships can be part-time or full-time with flexible start and end dates
- Employers pay interns a fair and competitive salary, with the potential to access a wage subsidy
Graduate students across all departments can participate in GSIP and several graduate programs also have formal experiential programming.
