Kevin Li
Kevin is a 2nd year medical student at the University of Alberta. He completed his BSc. in Cell Biology at the University of Alberta and graduated with a Master of Science in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University in 2023.
Prior to his matriculation, Kevin worked in USAID’s Office of HIV/AIDS as a Microbicide Research Intern to increase access to long-acting HIV prevention modalities in Sub-Saharan Africa. He also worked as a graduate research assistant with the Johns Hopkins Center for Public Health and Human Rights, furthering his interest in HIV prevention and 2SLGBTQ+ health. He is the current EDI representative for the medical school’s Class of 2027.
Vision for Social Accountability
Kevin looks forward to working with the Steering Committee to best represent the interests of equity-deserving populations in the surrounding community and within the university itself. He hopes to further improve the FoMD’s ability to produce healthcare professionals who can meet the needs of the communities they serve, through both equitable quality of care and community advocacy.

In his free time, Kevin enjoys baking pastries, oil painting, and playing the piano.
