Master of Education in Educational Studies
Direct-Entry Pathway
Students with a 4-year baccalaureate degree from a recognized university, along with at least two years of full-time teaching experience can enter the MES directly.
Students in the blended and online cohorts take ten (10) courses - eight core courses in sequence, and two electives.
Students in theIndigenous Education, Leadership in International Schools and Literacy and Numeracy cohorts take ten (10) courses which have been specifically designed for those groups. Click on the cohort below for details.

The course-based Master of Education in Educational Studies (MES) invites you to explore the challenges and opportunities associated with leading educational improvement and develop your research skills, while focusing on and integrating your area(s) of educational interest.

Indigenous Education Cohort 2025
The Master of Education in Educational Studies - Indigenous Education Cohort supports Indigenous teachers and school leaders from the Maskwacîs Cultural College, the Maskwacîs Education Schools Commission, and other Indigenous educators. You can be a change advocate, supporting robust learning communities at every level and in every community, enriching a culture of informed practice.

Leadership in International Schools Cohort
The Master of Education in Educational Studies (MES) - Leadership in International Schools offers teachers in international schools an opportunity to develop theoretical and conceptual foundations in educational leadership, administration, and management, and to explore leadership practice through a research-informed lens. The program is designed to contribute to your preparation for K-12 school leadership.

Literacy and Numeracy Cohort
The Master of Education in Educational Studies (MES) - Literacy and Numeracy is a two-year, part-time, course-based program for teachers and educational administrators who want to enhance their knowledge and practice in these areas. In partnership with the Fort Vermilion School Division, the program is designed to be cohort-based with coursework structured to allow you to build your knowledge in the areas of literacy and numeracy as well as to develop educational research skills and apply them in your educational context.
