Do I need to submit an English Language Proficiency score?
English is the primary language of instruction and communication in the MBA program. All applicants must be proficient in English prior to admission. Applicants with degrees/qualifications in a language other than English need to demonstrate English Language Proficiency (ELP) by completing an approved English language exam unless their countries or institutions are included on the University of Alberta's ELP Exemption list.
What are the minimum acceptable English Language Proficiency scores?
TOEFL: 600 (paper-based test), or 100 (internet-based test)
IELTS (Academic): Overall band score of 7.0, with at least 5 on each band
PTE (Academic): Overall score of 68
CAEL: Overall minimum of 60, with at least 60 on each subtest
MELAB: minimum of 85

How long is my TOEFL score valid?
TOEFL scores are valid for two years from the date of writing.

What services are available for international students?
The University of Alberta has a dedicated centre for international students. International Student Services provides a wide range of support and information for students prior to and after arriving in Edmonton.
The MBA Office, MBA Association and your classmates are also very willing to help should you have any questions or concerns.

Do international (visa) students pay more?
