Competency Goals
The Alberta MBA Program curricula are based on the following set of competency goals:
Competency Goal #1: Business Concepts and Theories
- Description: Students will have expertise in utilizing business knowledge in complex local and global contexts.
- Objective: Demonstrate expertise in utilizing business knowledge in complex local and global contexts.
Competency Goal #2: Critical Thinking
- Description: Students will have the ability to think critically for strategic decision making.
- Objective: Demonstrate ability to navigate business challenges effectively by leveraging information for strategic decision making.
Competency Goal #3: Responsible Business Principles
- Description: Students will have expertise in responsible business principles to achieve societal impact.
- Objective: Demonstrate strategic leadership in utilizing responsible business principles including governance, sustainability and ethics.
Competency Goal #4: Professional Skills
- Description: Students will excel as professional leaders, skilled in communication and collaboration.
- Objective 1: Deliver effective oral communication and written business documents using appropriate technology.
- Objective 2: Demonstrate ability to effectively lead diverse teams in order to achieve goals.
