Studying at Grenoble Ecole de Management in France was an incredible experience that helped me grow personally and professionally. Living in a new culture, speaking a different language, and meeting people from around the world taught me how to adjust to new situations and the value of building relationships with people from different backgrounds. This exchange broadened my perspective and showed me how stepping out of my comfort zone can lead to growth and new opportunities.

Life of a Fisherman in Mauritius by Aahan Dusoye

Mauritius

Travelling outside of Canada has broadened my horizons, allowing me to experience diverse cultures, connect with people from different backgrounds, and savour a variety of cuisines. As an international student from Mauritius—a small, idyllic island in the Indian Ocean—returning home for summer vacations has been nothing short of magical. The pristine sandy beaches, radiant sunshine, and crystal-clear turquoise lagoons offer a rejuvenating escape.
A particular photo I took during one of these visits serves as a powerful reminder to stay connected to my roots. It encapsulates the vibrant essence of my homeland and highlights the unique beauty of daily life in Mauritius. Moreover, it underscores the fascinating differences in lifestyles and traditions across the globe, making me more appreciative of the rich diversity that shapes our world!

A Mother's Watch by Aahil Ladhani

Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park

In the Serengeti’s golden plains, I encountered a mother cheetah shielding her cub—a scene that mirrored my own mother’s unwavering dedication. This journey underscored the profound resilience and strength of maternal bonds. Observing this instinctual guardianship inspired me to bring similar focus and empathy to my own pursuits, valuing the quiet yet powerful influence of those who protect and support us.

Explore Cappadocia by My Nguyen

Turkey

Visiting Cappadocia, Turkey, was a life-changing experience that opened my eyes to the beauty of exploring beyond familiar borders. Walking through its surreal landscapes, like the fairy chimneys and ancient underground cities, felt like stepping into a dream. The sunrise hot air balloon ride was unforgettable, making me realize how small we are in such a vast, beautiful world. Meeting locals and hearing their stories reminded me how much we can learn from different cultures. This trip wasn’t just about seeing a new place—it was about growing as a person and appreciating the richness of life beyond my own bubble.

Stargazing by Cameron Frenette

Cairns

I recently did an exchange abroad to Perth, Western Australia. Through this exchange I was able to experience the incredible landscapes and biodiversity that Australia has to offer.
I am very grateful for this exchange as it has allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and make lifelong connections across the world. In this photo, you can see the Milky Way light up the entirety of the night! One of my favourite parts about doing an exchange in Australia was seeing different constellations than you would see in Canada since it is in the Southern hemisphere!

A Drop of French Riveria by Nimra Dar

A Drop of French Riveria
Nimra Dar, MBA 2026
Nice, France

Captured during my exchange journey to La Palud-sur-Verdon in Nice, France, this image reflects the timeless beauty of the Verdon Gorge, often called the Grand Canyon of Europe. Each paddle boat below carries a story of adventure, discovery, and connection, as nature and wanderlust intertwine in one of Europe’s most awe-inspiring landscapes.
Travelling abroad allowed for so many amazing opportunities as a student that I would not be able to experience otherwise, I would highly recommend everyone to take part in a program of interest. There are programs in a variety of countries and durations that are flexible and affordable.

The Wee Toon in Summer by Caryn Kerr

The Wee Toon in Summer
Caryn Kerr, BCom Exchange Student 2026
Campbeltown, Argyll and Bute, Scotland

I have been fortunate enough to do a little bit of travelling to different places in Europe as well as my exchange in Canada. Travelling has allowed me to learn so much and meet new people but one of the biggest things I have taken away from travelling is to be thankful for the little things in life. As often we take them for granted and don't realise how much we miss them until we can no longer appreciate them. Therefore whenever I'm away from home, this is one of the views of home that I miss the most. As this is taken from one of my favourite walking spots on my parents farm where on a sunny day (which can be rare in Scotland!) you are treated to stunning views of the surrounding farmland and houses. So whenever I'm away from home, this is a photo I love to show people. As it shows my little part of the world, Campbeltown (commonly called the Wee Toon by locals) in its best light.

A Political Enigma by Kyle Turnbull

A Political Enigma
Kyle Turnbull, BCom 2026

As our nation stands on the precipice of tomorrow's promises, sometimes we may find guidance in the experiences of what came before us. What knowledge can be gleaned from a building that beheld the horrors of the world wars, revolutions, massacres and the fall of two empires? Just as the thick fog from the Danube envelopes this legislative buildings grandeur in its shrouded mystery, it bears symbolism for the future of Canada, which remains so painfully unknown. However, just as the statue of the rider does, we must always remind ourselves to strive forward, towards tomorrow.

Chimborazo by Jacqueline Cowling

Travelling has always been my favourite way of learning. Immersing myself in new locations and engaging with people about their culture, language, geography, and politics has been profoundly enriching. It pushes me to see the world through a broader lens, uncovering the nuances that make each place unique. These experiences not only deepened my understanding of the world, but also enhanced my perspectives, fostering empathy, adaptability, and a greater appreciation for diversity. Travelling is a journey of discovery that continues to shape me, inspiring me to embrace the richness of our vast and beautiful planet.
