About Us
Arts Work Experience (AWE) offers career related, paid work experience for undergraduate students in the Faculty of Arts. AWE is flexible, with many program options allowing students to complete 4, 8, 12, or 16-months of work experience beginning in September, January, or May.
Vision
Arts Work Experience programs connect students, employers, and community as a first step in achieving individual, educational and organizational success. It launches Arts students as they begin a journey of innovation, problem solving and the exploration of engaged citizenship and career opportunities.
Mission
UAlberta Arts Work Experience programs provide students with a range of meaningful career development and work term opportunities in a supportive environment which builds student confidence in their abilities to achieve academic and career success. It demonstrates the value of an Arts degree on and off campus.
We will achieve these by:
- Providing undergraduate students from across Arts disciplines with opportunities to grow and articulate their employability skills, build networks, and explore a diverse range of career opportunities.
- Connecting high quality Arts students with a diverse range of employers and community partners who support the mentorship-model.
- Connecting and engaging students with Arts alumni to reinforce the value of an Arts degree.
