Employee Family Assistance Program (EFAP)
EFAP provides psychological counseling, along with a wide range of work life and wellness services. In addition to counseling, staff members and their eligible dependents have access to nutritional, legal and financial consultation, services of a personal trainer, e-learning courses, health and wellness resources, and work life services (for example, cultural transition support, child and eldercare resources).
All University of Alberta staff and their eligible dependents have access to services through the EFAP, regardless of whether you are enrolled in a benefit plan and the services provided are held in the strictest of confidence.

WCB Claims and Incident Reporting
Work-related injuries must be reported to the Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) within 72 hours. In accordance with the appropriate Collective Agreement, staff members may continue to be paid directly by the University if they require time away from work due to a work-related injury, but these incidents must still be reported to the WCB. Learn the steps involved in work related injuries and illness (with all required forms) here.
Workplace Inspections
During annual workplace inspections, groups must fill out an inspection form that identifies any hazards or deficiencies.
