Introduction:
Established in 2000, the Singapore Management University (SMU) is internationally recognized for its world-class research and teaching excellence. SMU is known for its highly interactive, collaborative and project-based approach to learning, and for its emphasis on generating rigorous and high-impact multi-disciplinary research that addresses Asian issues of global relevance. Home to some 12,000 students, SMU comprises six schools specialising in Accountancy, Business, Economics, Information Systems, Law and Social Sciences, offering a wide range of bachelors', masters' and PhD degree programmes. SMU's city campus enjoys strategic linkages with business, government and the wider community through its research institutes, centres and labs.

Full-time Course Load: 4 SMU credits/semester (courses at SMU are worth 0.5 or 1 credit each; 1 SMU credit is equivalent to approximately 3 credits at UofA)
