Orenda Kihcâyis-Stonechild is from Mîmîw Sâkahikan (Pigeon Lake, Alberta). She graduated from the University of British Columbia with a graduate certificate in Indigenous Public Health as well as a certificate from the Indigenous Health Administration Leadership Program and from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology. 

 Her career includes work in or with indigenous business management, incarcerated persons, unhoused people, vulnerable families, persons in recovery, youth in high-risk environments, affordable and community housing, people affected by Indian Residential School, Indian Day Scholar, Indian Day School, and the Sixties Scoop, and policy analyses. 

Orenda volunteers with the University of Alberta’s Office of Alumni Relations as an Indigenous Alumni Advisory Circle Member. She is also a Professional Human Ecologist (PHEc) registered with the Alberta Human Ecology and Home Economics Association.
