But it’s the people that make up our community that are most integral to our operations—and few people know this better than Christine Rudd, human resources advisor in the Office of the Dean in the Faculty of Science.

I am the human resources advisor in the Office of the Dean in the Faculty of Science.
How long have you worked at the Faculty of Science?
It has been two and a half years already!
What is a typical day on campus like for you?
I am an early bird so I like to get in and started early. Every day is so different it is hard to describe a typical one. I feel like most of my day is filtering through emails. I try to get out for a walk each lunch since campus is so beautiful.
How has your work changed during the COVID-19 pandemic?
My pets and I have gotten really, really close!
What's the most common question people ask you about your job?
The most common questions that I receive are about salaries or for help with interpreting the University of Albeta’s collective agreements with the Association of Academic Staff University of Alberta (AASUA) or the Non-Academic Staff Association (NASA).
Favourite memory from work?
UnFROGettable was a fun time—crafting jumping origami frogs out of business cards and racing them down the hallway—even though my frog was the very slowest.
Favourite thing about working at the Faculty of Science?
I really enjoy working with our faculty members. Hearing about their research is amazing and I find all of them to be so kind and respectful.
