Application Process

Applicants to Radiation Therapy Program must first complete and submit payment for the Application for Admission (AFA). Application deadline is March 15, 2025. Please note that without paying for the AFA, all of the required checklist items may not populate on Launchpad. While you may see certain items on Launchpad, the complete secondary application may not be present until payment is received as Launchpad will populate off of the AFA once paid for and submitted.

Application for Admission

The application itself is supported by the Office of the Registrar's Student Service Centre. Any questions about the AFA (primary application) should be directed to:

We recommend that you use an internet browser such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox when completing the application as some versions of Internet Explorer are not compatible.

Important: Throughout this process, continually check Launchpad regarding status of your transcripts. Also check your @ualberta email account regularly for communications from the Radiation Therapy Program Office and the Office of the Registrar regarding your application.

The following steps will help guide you through the admissions process to the Bachelor of Science in Radiation Therapy (BScRT) degree program in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta.

It is essential that you complete all required steps. Please note: This is a competitive program, and meeting the admission requirements does not guarantee entrance.

Student ID
You will receive an email with your unique 7-digit UofA Student ID number once you submit and pay for the AFA. This will remain constant each year that you apply. It may take some time to be assigned to you, after which you will also find it at the top of your UAlberta Launchpad. If it is blank then one has not yet been assigned to you. This number is not the same as your Applicant/Application Reference Number.
CCID

All students and applicants are assigned a University of Alberta Campus Computing ID (CCID). Your CCID is used to access UAlberta.ca email and Bear Tracks (student service system).

The first time you apply to the UofA you will receive an email with your new CCID and password. You will use this information to log into your ccid@ualberta.ca email account.

For more information on your CCID and help with obtaining your CCID or password, contact IST.

UAlberta.ca Email

Your ccid@ualberta.ca assigned by the university is the email address to which all official communications will be sent. Check your e-mail at least once per week. Communication from the University is sent to UAlberta.ca email accounts only, not personal email accounts. Failure to receive or read University communications sent to your UAlberta.ca email address in a timely manner does not absolve an applicant from knowing, responding to, or complying with the content of the communication.

University of Alberta uses the Gmail platform; you can log in through google.ca using your full ccid@ualberta.ca account name, which will redirect you to ualberta.ca to authenticate with just your CCID and password.

If you already use a Gmail account you will need to log out of that one first or link your accounts. To link your accounts, while logged into your primary account, select your user icon in the upper right hand corner. In the menu that pops up select "Add Account" and follow the instructions. You will then be able to access both email accounts at the same time, either by having a tab open for each account or by toggling between the two accounts as required.
