Dr. Zofia Prus-Czarnecka has been awarded Best Scientific Paper of the 2024 Canadian Surgery Forum, Best Scientific Paper in Hepatobiliary Surgery 2024, Alberta Diabetes Institute (ADI) Graduate Scholarship 2024 and 2nd Place for the Alberta Diabetes Institute (ADI) Research Day Oral Presentation, 2024. 

Dr. Patrick Albers has been awarded the WSAUA Resident Scholarship Award, 2024

Dr. Paul Lerner received a Women & Children's Health Research Institute 2024 Graduate Studentship 2024 and a Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry/Alberta Health Services Graduate Student Recruitment Studentship, 2024. 

 

Past Resident Awards and Accolades

Dr. Jenna Lakhani has been awarded the 2022-2023 Medical Science Graduate Program Scholarship (MSGPS).

Dr. Ryan Chrenek has been awarded the 2021-2022 NACTRC Salary Grant. This award honours the 2021 CIP trainee who best exemplifies the goals, values, and mission of NACTRC while doing tier 2, 3, or 4 CIHR research. 

Dr. Nicole Anderson has been awarded the Women’s Child Health Research Institute (WCHRI) Resident Trainee Grant and the Medical Science Graduate Program Scholarship (MSGPS) Competition (in name only).

Dr. Kieran Purich has been awarded the Alberta Graduate Excellence Scholarship and the University of Alberta Master’s Entrance Scholarship.

Dr. Zoya Zaeem has been awarded the Canada Graduate Scholarships – Master’s program Scholarship and the PARA resident of the Month Award.

Dr. Josh Hefler has been awarded the Alberta Graduate Excellence Scholarship.
