Triple C Competency Based Curriculum: College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
Mandated and developed by the College of Family Physicians of Canada, Triple C is a competency-based curriculum for Family Medicine residency training based on the CanMEDS-Family Medicine framework and the Assessment Objectives for Certification in Family Medicine. At the University of Alberta, the Department of Family Medicine follows the Triple C curriculum enhanced with an innovative competency-based assessment.

Competence by Design (CBD): Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
Competence by Design (CBD) is a multi-year initiative by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) to implement an outcomes-based approach to learning and assessment in residency and specialty practice across Canada. The goal of CBD is to enhance patient care by ensuring physicians demonstrate the skills and behaviours required to continuously meet evolving patient needs.
