Creative Commons has developed a number of standard licences, giving copyright owners a simple way to grant copyright permissions to their creative works. In applying the licence that best suits their needs, copyright owners clearly communicate to all users the specific terms of use for their content.

CC Licences for Theses

The default terms of use for a thesis are generally “all rights reserved”, however the copyright owner may instead choose to apply an open licence to their thesis. An open licence, such as a CC licence, sets specific but more permissive terms and conditions which allow for certain uses without requiring additional permission.
