Request a Peer Review
Flexible resources that can be tailored to your context are coming soon! Stay tuned also for more details on requesting a peer review of teaching. Updates will be posted on this website and shared in the U of A Digests.
Peer review helps instructors enhance their teaching practices and grow professionally by providing constructive, evidence-based feedback. Whether you are seeking to refine your skills, gain new perspectives, or prepare for formal evaluations, this collaborative process provides valuable insights into your teaching effectiveness. By requesting a peer review, you will benefit from personalized feedback tailored to your teaching context and goals.
Peer review is available in two streams:
Classroom Observation Stream | Course Materials Review Stream |
A peer reviewer completes a classroom observation (clinical rounds, seminars, traditional lectures, field studies, and studio instructions) and provides constructive, respectful feedback through supportive collaboration. |
A peer reviewer evaluates the course materials such as the syllabus, learning outcomes, assignments, texts/exams, lesson plans, Canvas course, and other learning materials. |
Reviewers use rubrics tailored to each stream, grounded in the U of A's Multifaceted Evaluation of Teaching and Learning (Appendix B). These rubrics guide valuable insights into effective teaching practices, foster professional growth, and enrich student learning experiences. |
