Faculty Excellence
Congratulations to Trish Reay, Royston Greenwood and PhD student Milo Wang, on being selected as a Finalist of the 2021 Award for Responsible Research in Management, co-sponsored by Fellows of the Academy of Management, and the Community for Responsible Research in Business and Management.
The two co-authored pieces, From grace to violence: Stigmatizing the medical profession in China and Maintaining places of social inclusion: Ebola and the emergency department were honoured as their research pays tribute to high quality scientific research that addresses critical issues in business and society.
Student Success
Kylie Heales, a PhD student from the Alberta School of Business, was among 15 doctoral researchers from across Canada to be selected as a recipient of the 2021 Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Scholarship. Congratulations, Kylie!
A team of bachelor of commerce students made it to the finals and placed fourth at this year’s HSBC/HKU case competition. Students on the team included: Rachel Rochat, Alexander Voutchkov, Zachary Olsen and Claire Roy. Well done.
Alumni Accomplishments
The University of Alberta announced this year’s Alumni Awards recipients on June 1. Six alumni of the School of Business were recognized. Congratulations to all recipients!

- Deb Younger, '93 BCom, '98 BEd
Ruth, a woman-owned startup offering a disposable and sustainable alternative to menstrual pads, launched its first product through a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter and reached its funding goal in less than 48 hours. Ruth is co-founded by Nicole Sanchez (BCom '20). Congratulations!
