Faculty Excellence
Congratulations to Dean Joseph Doucet, recently appointed as Interim College Dean for the College of Social Sciences and Humanities effective July 1, 2021.
Congratulations to Vice Dean Kyle Murray on accepting the role of Acting Dean of the Alberta School of Business beginning July 1, 2021, for a 2-year term.
Congratulations to Sarah Moore. She was promoted to full professor effective July 1, 2021.
Student Success
Congratulations to everyone on the Alberta School of Business team for an incredible showing at JDC West 2021! They placed:
- second in overall participation out of 12 teams;
- second in Debate;
- third in HR;
- third in Not-For-Profit;
- second in Business Technology, and;
- in the top three schools for number of charity hours worked, dollars raised and team skit!
The team also completed 512 volunteer hours for four charities in Edmonton and raised $11,340 for the United Way.
School News
The Alberta School of Business has once again maintained accreditation status from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) – the foremost accreditation body for business schools. Established in 1916, AACSB accreditation continues to be the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide.
In Canada, the Alberta School of Business was the first business school to receive AACSB accreditation in 1968 and remains one of only 24 Canadian schools to receive the honour.
Congratulations to Jolene Martin on her appointment as the School’s Acting Senior Financial Officer.
Alumni Accomplishments
School of Business alumnus Philip Soper was recently named the twelfth most influential leader in real estate for 2021, according to the Real Estate Almanac. Soper is the top Canadian on this list. Congratulations!
