Important Application Assessment Reminders - CASPer, cGPA, & Transcripts

With application assessment ramping up, we would like to share a few important reminders with applicants:

 CASPer Test Scores:

• Deadline: Release your CASPer test results to us by December 1, 2023.
• CASPer Status: CASPer results are typically uploaded to Launchpad after the December 1, 2023 deadline, and your status will change to a green checkmark when uploaded to Launchpad.
• Past Applications: Note that CASPer tests may appear as a red x on past applications since we clear scores from these old applications in Launchpad.
• CASPer Status and Submission: CASPer status did not impact submission on October 4, 2023.

cGPA Calculations:

• The Office of the Registrar is diligently working on calculating your cGPA to evaluate your academic qualifications.
• Acknowledgement Form: Once your cGPA has been calculated, it will be available in your Forms for you to complete an acknowledgment form. Acknowledging your cGPA in your UAlberta Launchpad has no bearing on your application.
• Deadline: Ensure that the Office of the Registrar has calculated your cGPA prior to the February 1, 2024, deadline.

Transcript Items:

• Review Deadlines: Carefully read through the Important Notices & Dates webpage to be aware of relevant deadlines for your transcript status.
• "Final, Official Transcripts": All post-secondary institutions you've attended require "Final, Official Transcripts," which must be sent to the Office of the Registrar by your issuing institution.
• Processing Time: There may be delays in updating checklist items during peak processing times. Please be patient and continue monitoring your UAlberta Launchpad.
• "In Progress" Grades: Official transcripts with any "In Progress" grades are not considered "Final." Ensure you have "Final, Official Transcripts" from your institutions. So, if you have a Transcript with 1st and 2nd Term Registration, your Final, Official transcript, associated with that institution, will not be checked off until you complete the academic year and send updated transcripts.
• 1st and 2nd Term Registration: If your institution doesn't show 2nd term registration on transcripts (e.g., McMaster, University of Lethbridge) or if you're not yet able to register in 2nd term courses (e.g., Harvard), submit a letter/timetable/screenshot with your 2nd term registration status via your UAlberta Launchpad. Please ensure you include your name, the name of the institution, the term, course numbers/names, and the number of credits for each course that you plan on registering for during the 2nd term if available. Should you upload a 1st and 2nd term unofficial transcript without the 2nd term registration status documentation, your transcript will be deemed insufficient and you will need to provide an updated submission on Launchpad.
• Deadline: Upload 2nd term registration information by early January at the latest, as it must be processed by February 1, 2024.
• Current Enrollment: If you're currently enrolled at a post-secondary institution, June 19, 2024, is the deadline for 'Final, Official Transcripts' to be received by the Office of the Registrar, showing 1st and 2nd term grades and proof of degree conferment from your current institution.
