Sumia Andleeb Abbasi is a Senior Instructor at Aga Khan University School of Nursing and Midwifery, President, of Sigma Theta Tau International, Rho Delta Chapter and Visiting Scholar at University of Alberta (2023-2024). She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Aga Khan University School of Nursing and Midwifery and a Master’s in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Aga Khan University Medical College.
Sumia is an enthusiastic nursing faculty member, early-career biostatistician, and epidemiologist with a deep passion for youth empowerment and public health. Her work emphasizes the utilization of sexual and reproductive health services, adolescent health, and community engagement. She has led and participated in various impactful research projects, including life skills training for adolescents and integrated flood response initiatives. Her current research areas include online gender-based violence among youth in Pakistan, road traffic trauma and injury among young and middle-aged individuals, and sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) research initiatives in Azad Kashmir. Sumia aims to continue fostering growth and development through innovative research methodologies in underprivileged areas, such as Azad Kashmir and rural regions of Pakistan.
