Suicide Prevention Week is an annual event at U of A that raises awareness and encourages people to take action to prevent suicide.

When is Suicide Prevention Week?
January 20 - 24, 2025. The theme for this year is find your sources of strength. Sources of strength are the factors that can protect and support you during a crisis, such as:
- Feeling connected to others, such as family, friends, and your community
- Maintaining proper nutrition and living an active lifestyle
- Having a safe place to live and call home

Come join the Men's Health Group and the Active Minds student groups for a screening of Inside Out 2, board games and pizza. Drop in!

Join Wellness Supports and Community Recreation for a free yoga class where you can learn about the importance of physical activity and how to better support your mental health and well-being. This course is drop-in friendly, and participants of all skill levels are welcome.

Question, Persuade Refer
Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) is a 2-hour certified suicide prevention training program. U of A staff, faculty and students gain skills to recognize and support people who may be having thoughts of suicide.
