Mask Fit Testing

The College of Health Sciences provides a Qualitative Respirator Fit Test for N95 masks. We are currently fit testing 3M 1804, 3M 1860, 3M 1860S, and 3M 1870+ respirators.

Please note that a CCID is required to book a Mask Fit Test.

Mask Fit Testing takes place in ECHA - 2-220

Mask Fit Test - Individual

Mask Fit Test - Groups

Cancellation/Appointment Change Policy:

  • If you wish to cancel your appointment, you must do so no less than 48 hours before your scheduled appointment time
    • A $5.00 restocking fee will apply to all cancellations
  • Failing to arrive for a scheduled appointment ("No show") will result in your appointment being cancelled without refund
  • Failing to arrive on time for your appointment ("Late") may result in your appointment being cancelled without refund
  • If you wish to change your scheduled appointment time, you must do so no less than 7 days before your scheduled appointment time

The Day of Your Appointment

  • Ensure that you are clean shaven
  • Do not eat, drink, smoke, vape, chew gum or brush your teeth within 20 minutes of your appointment
  • Bring a bottle of water to rinse your mouth
  • Bring your receipt
  • Bring your OneCard or a government-issued photo ID

Students are tested with a respirator and a bitter/sweet solution. The student will also learn how to properly put on (don) and take off (doff) a mask and conduct seal checks. An appointment takes approximately 15-20 minutes.

Upon successful completion of the test, the student will receive a certificate that is valid for up to two years or when major physical changes occur (Example: gaining/losing weight, pregnancy, facial or dental surgery, etc.)
