Mask Fit Testing

The College of Health Sciences provides a Qualitative Respirator Fit Test for N95 masks. We are currently fit testing 3M 1804, 3M 1860, 3M 1860S, and 3M 1870+ respirators.

Please note that a CCID is required to book a Mask Fit Test.

Mask Fit Test - Individual

Individuals can book a Mask Fit Test by selecting and purchasing a slot from our online store.

Mask Fit Test - Groups

Faculties or Programs looking to have a large group of students tested can fill out this CHS Mask Fitting Group booking form to set up a group booking.

If you wish to cancel or reschedule your booking, please do so at least 48 hours in advance. An appointment can only be rescheduled once and is at the discretion of the Mask Fit Testing team.

Prior to coming to your appointment, please ensure that you:

  • Are clean-shaven
  • Do not eat, drink, smoke, vape, or chew gum within 20 minutes of the appointment.

Please arrive 15 minutes in advance of your appointment time with:

  • A copy of your receipt
  • OneCard or any government-issued photo ID
  • A bottle of water to rinse your mouth

Students are tested with a respirator and a bitter/sweet solution. The student will also learn how to properly put on (don) and take off (doff) a mask and conduct seal checks. An appointment takes approximately 15-20 minutes.

Upon successful completion of the test, the student will receive a certificate that is valid for up to two years or when major physical changes occur (Example: gaining/losing weight, pregnancy, facial or dental surgery, etc.)
