Computer Vision and Multimedia Communications
Computer vision and multimedia communication research includes 3D multimedia representations for efficient online visualization, 3D panoramic image acquisition and visualization, automatic analysis of 3D information for medical diagnostics, optimal distributed bandwidth monitoring and distributed multimedia retrieval, prioritization and encryption of JPEG2000 and MPEG-4 bit streams and super high resolution 3D imaging.
Research Groups
- Multimedia Research Centre: actively conducts state-of-the-art projects in computer vision, computer graphics, image processing and perceptual factors that promote unrestricted access to education and advances in biomedical technology.
- Computer Vision and Robotics Research Group: designs methods for dynamic vision (tracking, visual servoing, on-line 3D modelling from images, dynamic textures) and also performs research into medical imaging.
