Certificate in Indigenous Governance and Partnership

The Certificate in Indigenous Governance and Partnership is an embedded undergraduate certificate for students interested in engaging in Indigenous studies and enriching their knowledge of the unique governance issues and opportunities that Indigenous peoples and non-Indigenous partners may encounter.

Overview

Students will develop the skills necessary to lead, work, and/or partner with Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities, businesses, organizations and/or governments.

Eligibility

Any undergraduate student at the University of Alberta is eligible to complete this certificate.

Requirements

To be awarded the certificate, students must complete a minimum of 18 credits from the following:

Required courses:

  • NS 320: Indigenous Politics and Diplomacy
  • NS 430: Indigenous Governance and Partnership Capstone

Complete 12 credits from approved list of Elective courses
