Interests: Current events, superhero movies, and K-pop.

What do you love most about science?

I love that science can shape our future to improve our lives!

Why do you think you think it is important to promote science to young people, and why are you a good science mentor?

It is important to promote science to youth because we need critical thinkers who will continue to innovate and improve everyone's futures. I am a great science mentor because I enjoy helping younger people discover the fun and interesting things about science! There's something for everyone in the vast world of science!

Why did you want to work with Science Summer Camps?

I want to work with Science Summer Camps because some of my friends at university told me how awesome it is to spend the summer working as a science camp leader! I am excited to have a blast with the team and campers.

Tell us a fun fact about you!

I read the entire Harry Potter series in English and Korean, because I am bilingual!


Kynan Ly

Program: BSc, specialization in computing science

Interests: Computing science, video games, and sociology.

What do you love most about science?

What I like the most about science is the possibilities it leads to.

Why do you think you think it is important to promote science to young people, and why are you a good science mentor?

There a lot of innovations that happens everyday in science. With new technologies and advances that improve the world around us. If that is the case then I believe it is best that new fresh minds also help us move forward. Therefore I think I would be a good science mentor because I can help direct young people into exploring what best fits them, whether that be towards the more nature science or other fields.

Why did you want to work with Science Summer Camps?

I wanted to work for Science Summer Camps because I felt that from there I would be able to get a better understand on what I wanted to tackle in my master's program. This is because the participants in the camp are those who grew up in this digital world in which I would be studying and might give me insight.
