Meet Nancie Hodgson, a course scheduling and timetabling coordinator, and Tamie Heisler-Schafer, a program coordinator, with the College’s Office of Education. Take a few moments to learn more about them and how they support CHS learners.
How do you describe your work to those who don’t work in your field?
Both: In our roles as program coordinator and course scheduling and timetabling coordinator, we work with departments and faculties across the College of Health Sciences, gathering information about courses for the academic term. We conduct this work a full year ahead of the current academic year. The information is then compiled into draft timetables, followed by discussions around any changes that should be noted. We then input the information into Campus Solutions.
Tamie: In my role as program coordinator, I’m also involved in interprofessional education and will be working with a team to coordinate the Interprofessional Learning Pathway Launch taking place in September.
What’s your favourite thing about working with your colleagues in the College of Health Sciences?
Tamie: It is one of the most collaborative and respectful environments I have ever worked in. Lihong (Lihong Yang, Director, Office of Education) has an amazing leadership style and brings out the best in all of us.
Nancie: Everyone is incredible. The environment is collaborative and respectful, and everyone is very supportive of each other. Lihong has a quiet way of making you feel confident and encourages you to grow in your position.
