Jialiang Yan Recognized with Honorable Mention for the 2025 Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Award

University of Alberta student recognized in 2025 Computing Research Association awards.

Jialiang Yan was recognized with an honourable mention for the 2025 CRA Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Award. The awards are issued once each year and recognizes undergraduate students, from across North America, who have shown outstanding research potential in computing science. Jialiang was nominated for his work on mobile app privacy notices, which he completed over the summer of 2024.

Jialiang is an undergraduate student in the final year of his studies at the University of Alberta who has worked under the supervision of Dr. Bailey Kacsmar in the Practical Usable Privacy and Security (PUPS) Research Lab and under the supervision of Dr. Carrie Demmans Epp in the Educational Technology, Knowledge, Language, and Learning Analytics (EdTeKLA) Research Group since 2023.
